Welcome, Angel! Eagle Pass’ First Baby of 2025 Arrives
January 1, 2025 | by eaglepasstxnews.com
At exactly 3:39 p.m. on New Year’s Day, Eagle Pass got its first sweet glimpse of 2025’s future in the form of a newborn named Angel Gabriel Ramirez.
Weighing 6 pounds and 12 ounces, baby Angel made his grand entrance at Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center, bringing immense joy to his parents, Rosa Sanchez and Angel Gabriel Ramirez Sr. Dr. Albert Aguayo, along with the Labor and Delivery team, guided the family through this incredible moment, ensuring mother and baby were healthy and safe.
“It’s a blessing,” Rosa shared with me, smiling despite the long hours she had endured. “He’s perfect, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to start the year.”
A Visit from Mayor Salinas
Moments like this are about family and community, and Mayor Rolando Salinas made sure to extend a warm welcome to the city’s newest resident. He personally visited the hospital, presenting the Ramirez family with a beautiful gift basket.
“It’s always special to see the joy a new life brings,” Mayor Salinas said during his visit. “Angel’s arrival reminds us of the hope and possibilities a new year brings to Eagle Pass.”
As the mayor spoke, Rosa and Angel Sr. beamed with pride, clearly moved by the gesture. For them, the presence of family, friends, and even city leaders made Angel’s birth all the more memorable.
A Moment for the Community
Standing outside the delivery room, I could hear laughter and joyful chatter. Family members had gathered to celebrate, their excitement filling the hallways of the hospital. It was a scene of pure happiness—a reminder that even in a small town like Eagle Pass, big moments like these are felt far and wide.
The nurses and doctors shared in the joy too. One of the nurses told me, “Being part of a New Year’s baby delivery is always special. It’s like we’re welcoming hope and new beginnings in the most personal way.”
Welcome to the World, Angel
As I left the hospital, I couldn’t help but reflect on how moments like these bring a community together. Baby Angel isn’t just the first baby of the year; he’s a symbol of the hope and dreams we all carry into 2025.
Congratulations to Rosa, Angel Sr., and their beautiful family. Welcome to Eagle Pass, Angel Gabriel Ramirez. Your story has already touched so many of us.
